Appointment System for US Citizen Services
An appointment is mandatory for all non-emergency citizen services (passports, visa pages, reports of birth abroad, notary services, etc), except Federal Benefits.
Appointments for passport services and reporting the birth of a U.S. citizen in Uruguay are available on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Appointments for notary services are available on Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Federal Benefits beneficiaries
Federal Benefits beneficiaries (e.g. Social Security) may come in on Mondays from 9:00 to 11:00 am or 2:00 to 4:00 pm without an appointment, except on Uruguayan and U.S. public holidays.
Accessibility
The Americans Citizens Services Unit is located on the left-hand side of the Embassy lobby and is accessible via ramp and elevator. Upon arrival at the lobby, please identify yourselves to a guard and request assistance with the elevator.
