The U.S. Embassy Montevideo kicked off its
holiday season with a festive celebration featuring a live
rendition of Candombe, an African derived, uniquely Uruguayan
rhythm, that captivated embassy staff with the luring sound
of its drums. During the event, U.S. Chargé D'Affairs
James Nealon presented the annual personnel awards and congratulated
the staff for a job well done.
The embassy's Christmas tree lighting followed
the celebration.
