As a part of International Education
Week, November 14-18, the U.S. Department of State recognizes
all those who have participated in or are currently participating
in the Fulbright Program, its flagship international educational
exchange program. Since its inception in 1946, the Fulbright
Program has fostered the exchange of people and ideas. The
Fulbright Program is a key component of our efforts to increase
mutual understanding between the people of the United States
and the people of other nations.
The Fulbright Program operates in over
150 countries worldwide. There are currently over 3,500
Fulbrighters from other countries studying, conducting research,
and teaching in the United States and over 2,500 U.S Fulbright
students and scholars studying, conducting research, and
teaching abroad. The Department of State and its partner
organizations have encouraged Fulbrighters in the U.S. and
abroad to make special presentations about their home country
and culture during International Education Week. Information

The U.S. Department of State congratulates
all 2005-2006 Fulbright students, scholars and teachers
in the U.S. and abroad. More information on the Fulbright

In its sixth year, International Education
Week is a global event, with students, educators, and community
leaders participating in a wide range of activities to recognize
and celebrate the benefits of international education and
exchange in our classrooms and our educational systems.
