Maryann McDonagh, regional director
of international and transfer admissions for the University
of Pennsylvania, visited Uruguayan schools during a world
tour aimed at promoting the university to international
students as well as to give information on the college admission
process in the U.S.
Ms. McDonagh spoke with students, teachers
and administrators at the Uruguayan American School, the
British Schools of Montevideo and the Stella
Maris School. She also met with members of the Fulbright
Commission. Mrs. Audrey Silverstein, who coordinated the
visit, said the admissions director
is looking for top students with open minds who are eager
to become a part of the college community. Ms. McDonagh
is also visiting Puerto Rico, Peru,
Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil and Argentina before she heads
to Europe and the Far East.
