November 18 was "McDia Feliz". Proceeds form all Big Mac hamburger sales accross the country are donated by MacDonald's to the Peluffo-Giggens Foundation, an organization for the fight against cancer in children.

Each year, the U.S. Embassy's Community Liaison Office contributes by collecting funds from Embassy staff for the purchase of Big Mac combo meals to be donated to orphanages in Montevideo. 135 combos were donated this year to 5 different orphanages.
