REMARKS BY AMBASSADOR MARTIN J. SILVERSTEIN
Good morning:
Every year, around the world, future leaders
in science, literature, government and business participate
in public and private exchange programs. These ventures
build mutual understanding and lasting bonds; and help instill
the skills needed to develop leaders with a broad world
vision and a compassion for other cultures.
We are proud of the fact that over 200 participants
from around the world, in Department of State-sponsored
exchange programs, have become heads of state.
This Embassy is committed to promoting educational
exchange with Uruguay throughout the entire year. Exchange
programs that include students and professors are an essential
tool that advance understanding between our nations.
I want to thank each one of you for your
participation and dedication to the success of our joint
programs.
Thank you.
