Uruguayan Researcher Esther Ruiz Travels to the U.S.

Esther Ruiz, right, of the School of Humanities of the University of the Republic embarked on a trip to the United States to do research at the National Archives for her project "Technicians, politicians and businessmen in the technological debate of the industrialization of Uruguay: 1945-1955" which will include a great deal of information about the influence of U.S. companies and individuals in the economic development of Uruguay. Ms. Ruiz hosts a series of history programs on government supported national television therefore she has a broad dissemination for her ideas. The U.S. Embassy Montevideo and the University of the Republic are providing financial assistance for this research.
