A U.S. Congress Delegation headed by
Congressman -and Chairman of the Agriculture Committee-, Bob
Goodlatte, visited Uruguay on November 28-29 to meet with
Uruguayan government officials and private sector representatives.
Following a breakfast with MERCOSUR officials
Jose Buttner, Jimmy Voss, Marcel Vaillant, Oscar Stark and
Diana Klor, the delegation met with Uruguayan Vice President
Rodolfo Nin Novoa and the First Vice President of the House
of Representatives, Ruben Martinez Huelmo.
The congressmen later met with representatives from business sector Daniel Beleratti of the Chamber of Slaughterhouses, Daniel Bayce of the Uruguayan Chamber of Seeds, and Alberto Grille of the Blueberries Association.
Before deprting for Buenos Aires, the delegation visited the U.S. Embassy Montevideo where they met with newly appointed Ambassador Frank E. Baxter.
