Barney the purple dinosaur delighted children at Pereira Rossell Hospital Thursday (Oct. 9) with a special performance. Children from the hospital day care, pediatric wards and visitors filled the lobby to sing along with Barney as he performed some of his famous tunes.

Organized by the U.S. Embassy and Exim Licensing Group, the company that brought Barney to Uruguay, the dinosaur shared a happy moment with the children.

Mrs. Audrey Silverstein, a supporter of the hospital’s Peluffo Giguens cancer ward, also came out to clap along with Barney, and mingle with staff, volunteers and children at the hospital. Embassy staff gave out US flags, pins, visors and pencils to the children, parents and staff who stopped by.

The embassy also arranged for Barney to visit Aldeas Infantiles on Friday (Oct. 10).

Barney was brought to Uruguay by Exim Licensing Group. He is also scheduled to perform at Punta Carretas Shopping this week.
