DELIVERY OF PHARMACEUTICAL
PRODUCTS TO THE PEREIRA ROSSELL HOSPITAL
March 13, 2003
A
donation of pharmaceutical products worth $70,000 was delivered
today to the Pereira Rossell Hospital during George P. Bush
' s tour of Uruguay ' s premier public hospital.
This donation from Project Cure precedes a larger donation
of some $1.5 million worth of supplies scheduled to arrive
at the end of March, 2003.
Facilitated by Federal Express, this delivery will provide
much-needed pharmaceuticals to the Ministry of Public Health.
Project CURE ' s founder, Dr. Jim Jackson, visited Uruguay
in October of 2002. His visit and U.S. Ambassador Martin
J. Silverstein's representations with Congressman Cass Ballenger
of North Carolina resulted in this and other donations of
medicines and medical supplies to Uruguay.
