AMBULANCE DELIVERED TO THE
MINISTRY OF PUBLIC HEALTH June 03, 2003
Intended for the Paysandú Hospital
An ambulance was delivered to the Ministry of Public Health
the morning of June 3rd. The ambulance will be used by the
Paysandú Hospital.
This new donation was made in a ceremony attended by U.S.
Ambassador Martin J. Silverstein and Minister of Public
Health Dr. Conrado Bonilla.
The ambulance, furnished with modern equipment and medical
supplies is worth US$ 50,000 and is part of the U.S. Southern
Command’s Humanitarian Assistance efforts.
The U.S. Embassy started this humanitarian assistance program
in 2002 with the donation of medical supplies and educational
programs, and has grown during the current year.
Today’s delivery is an added contribution to deliveries
previously made. To date, Humanitarian Assistance donations
total US$5 million.
