A mission from Atlanta, Ga., visited
Uruguay Thursday, Aug. 28, to meet with authorities and
representatives of the private sector.
The objective of this visit – chaired
by a CEO of Atlanta, Ga. –Gateway to the Americas
José Ignacio González – was to propose
Atlanta as host city for Foreign Trade Area of the Americas
(FTAA) headquarters. The delegation was composed of 15 representatives
from institutions and companies in Georgia.
Their agenda included a meeting with the
President of the Republic Jorge Batlle, on Friday morning,
Aug. 29.
They also were scheduled to meet high-ranking
officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Defense
and Tourism, Uruguay XXI, National Port Administration and
Mercosur Secretariat.
