NEW AIRPORT SECURITY REGULATIONS FOR CARRY-ON BAGGAGE
New security regulations apply
effective November 6, 2006, for carry-on baggage on flights
to and from the U.S. The new regulations restrict
the amount of liquids that you can take through security
checkpoints and maximum size of carry-on baggage.
These are the specific new regulations:
• Liquids
or comparable items of similar consistency such as gels,
aerosols, lotions, creams or toothpaste may only be carried
by travelers in small quantities and in small containers.
The maximum size of a container is limited to 100 ml.
• The containers
must be placed and transported in a clear plastic, zip lock
bag having a maximum volume of 1 liter. Only one bag is
permitted per passenger. This bag must be removed from the
carry-on baggage and presented to security personnel at
the checkpoint for separate X-raying.
• Medications
and special dietary requirement, including baby formula,
are permitted in carry-on baggage if needed on board. These
must be removed from the carry-on baggage and declared to
security personnel at the checkpoint.
• The traveler
may take Duty Free items through the security checkpoint
which he/she has purchased on the day of the flight in a
shop after the boarding card checkpoint at an airport or
on board an aircraft of an airline. These items must be
packed in a clear plastic bag which has been sealed by shop
personnel after paying. The sales slip with date and location
of the purchase must be inside the bag and capable of being
checked (read) without having to open the bag.
• Flights to
the US and to UK are still subject to specific regulations.
• The size
of carry-on baggage is limited to 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm.
This regulation does not become legally binding until May
6, 2007.

mano en todos los vuelos con destino o origen en Estados
Unidos y vuelos de conexión.
A
partir del 6 de noviembre de 2006, queda restringido el
transporte de líquidos en el interior de la cabina
del avión en todos los vuelos con origen o destino
a Estados Unidos y vuelos de conexión. Esta medida
afecta también a todos los vuelos domésticos.
El equipaje de mano sólo podrá
contener líquidos y productos gelatinosos, tales
como cosméticos o productos para la higiene, cuando
reúnan los siguientes requisitos:
-- Los envases que contengan líquidos
y sustancias similares podrán tener una capacidad
máxima de 100 ml (se tomará como referencia
la capacidad máxima impresa en la etiqueta)
-- Todos los envases deberán llevarse
en el interior de una bolsa transparente con cierre (p.
ej. cierre zip), con una capacidad máxima de 1 litro
y que los envuelva por completo
-- Se admite una única bolsa por pasajero
-- En el control de equipajes, la bolsa deberá
mostrarse por separado
Los medicamentos y alimentos especiales
(p. ej. para bebés) que se requieran a bordo durante
el vuelo, no necesitarán introducirse en la citada
bolsa. No obstante, también deberán mostrarse
en el control de seguridad.
Queda prohibido el transporte a bordo de
artículos y bolsas que no reúnan estos requisitos.
Desde el 29 de septiembre de 2006 se aplica una norma similar
(90 ml por envase) en vuelos y conexiones de enlace con
destino a los EE.UU.
Pueden llevarse a bordo los artículos
"duty-free" que hayan sido adquiridos en aeropuertos
o a bordo de aviones pertenecientes a compañías
aéreas de la UE o de Estados Unidos (p. ej., en un
vuelo de Lufthansa*) y se transporten en el interior de
una bolsa sellada. Será necesario disponer de un
recibo o factura para los mismos, con fecha del mismo día
El establecimiento en el que adquiera
estos artículos llevará a cabo el sellado
del envoltorio. (No aplicable a vuelos en régimen
de código compartido.)
