Martin J. Silverstein presented the Ambassador's Award
to graduating senior Ye Jung Kim at the June 19, 2003
Commencement
Ceremony of the Uruguayan-American School (UAS). The Ambassador's
Award, instituted in 1969, is given to the student in the
graduating class having the best all around attributes
in the areas of school and community service, academic
achievement,
sportsmanship and attitude. The recipient of the award
is chosen by the grade 12 UAS teachers voting by secret
ballot.
Ambassador Silverstein also addressed the eight graduating
seniors, challenging them: to "Aim for the top of the
mountain; there's more room up there than at the bottom."
