Uruguay and the United States
have a long history of close, multifaceted relations since
the earliest days of our republics. We share a long tradition
of values, of democratically elected governments and cooperation
in many arenas. My commitment is to maintain and strengthen
these bilateral relations while fulfilling the traditional
Ambassador's role of looking out for the interests of American
citizens.
