Ambulance delivered to the Uruguayan Ministry of Public Health.
An
ambulance was delivered to the Ministry of Public Health the
morning of June 3rd. The ambulance will be used by the
Paysandú Hospital. The
new donation was made in a ceremony attended by U.S. Ambassador
Martin J. Silverstein and Minister of Public Health Dr. Conrado
Bonilla. The
ambulance, furnished with modern equipment and medical supplies
is worth US$ 50,000 and is part of the U.S. Southern Command’s
Humanitarian Assistance efforts. The
U.S. Embassy started this humanitarian assistance program
in 2002 with the donation of medical supplies and educational
programs, and has grown during the current year.
Today’s
delivery is an added contribution to deliveries previously
made. To date,
Humanitarian Assistance donations total five million U.S.
dollars.
