WELCOME The service, based on similar models operating today in more than 35 countries across Europe, Latin America and Asia, provides timely and accurate information to the public regarding how to apply for a visa to enter the United States of America. The U.S. Visa Information Service is provided to the public on behalf of the U.S. Embassy in Montevideo by Computer Sciences Corporation in partnership with the TeleTech Call Center located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Visa Information Service is the only official source of general visa information from the U.S. Embassy via telephone and is the only authorized method to schedule a personal interview for a nonimmigrant visa. The Visa Information Service provides English and Spanish speaking agents who will: • Answer callers questions on how to apply for nonimmigrant and
immigrant visas How to access the Visa Information Service: • Obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from any branch
of Abitab for $16 US dollars, payable in pesos (approximately 400 pesos) Benefits of the Visa Information Service: • Provides more flexibility in scheduling All nonimmigrant visa interview appointments scheduled through the previous online system will be honored and applicants will not need to confirm or reschedule them.
