23 English teachers from public elementary schools across the country and 10 American Fulbright teachers participated in the First English Immersion Winter Camp, July 22-23.

Organized with the support of Uruguayan National Education officials, the U.S. Embassy Montevideo and the Fulbright Commission, the 2-day program took place in a resort area east of Montevideo called Pueblo Suizo.

The program included several academic and recreational activities. During the event, the Uruguayan teachers were able to improve their English skills while sharing professional and social experiences with the American Fulbright teachers. The group was encouraged to communicate in English throughout the day.
