Under the auspices of the U.S. Embassy Montevideo, music director Alfred Savia will be in Montevideo to conduct two concerts
with the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra. The concerts will
be held at the Teatro Solis on Monday, July 27 at 7:30 pm,
and on Monday, August 3 at 7:30 pm.
The July 27 concert, named “Pluton” to commemorate
Astronomy International Year, will include works by Mendelssohn
and Rachmaninof with Uruguayan pianist Raquel Boldorini
as soloist. The August 3 program is to be announced.
A native of Livingston, New Jersey, Savia is the musical
director of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and enjoys an internationally respected career as
a conductor, orchestra builder and teacher.
