The embassy's Engineering Services Center (ESC) recently participated in a volunteer project at a local orphanage in Montevideo called “El Retoño”. The installations were in desperate need of repairs on several items including a storage shed, window screens and kitchen cabinets. All ESC staff members worked over a three-day period to assist the orphanage in providing the much needed maintenance. This project was not only a help to the local community but allowed the ESC staff to hone their technical skills.
