USS Farragut Sailors Participate in Community Relations Activities While in Montevideo

Ambassador Baxter joins group, with a paint brush in hand, to help finish the work

A group of sailors from the USS Farragut participated in a two-day community relations project while the ship was in Montevideo, May 5-9. On Wednesday they worked at the Maruja boy's orphanage where they helped build a wall and recondition the facility. They also delivered a donation made under the Humanitarian Assitance Program consisting of a much needed clothes dryer, computer, fax/copier machine and bunkbed mattresses. On Thursday, May 8 the group procceded to paint the exterior of an eldery woman's home, pictured above, where they were joined by U.S. Ambassador Frank E. Baxter.
