U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson Visits Uruguay July 11-12, 2007

U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson,
Jr. visited Uruguay July 11 and 12 to reinforce the strong ties
the United States shares with Uruguay, and to stress the
U.S.' stake in the economic success of Latin America. He
met with his Uruguayan counterpart, Minister of Finance
Danilo Astori, as well as President Tabare Vazquez and local
business leaders to discuss ideas on how to spread opportunity,
reduce poverty, and build the middle class in the region
and talk about what the United States can do to help.
