Ambassador Baxter Visits the City of Minas

On May 29, U.S. Ambassador Frank Baxter visited the city of Minas accompanied by the embassy's Cultural and Public Affairs officer Linda Gonzalez and Press specialist Rubek Orlando. The visit was aimed at strengthening cultural and commercial bilateral relations.

This is Ambassador Baxter's second visit to the interior. On January 3 and 4, Baxter visited the municipalities of Canelones, Colonia and San Jose at which time he stated, "It is important that I know the entire country in order to enhance my understanding of Uruguay and I look forward to visit all the Departamentos [municipalities] [...]" (See related article.)
