George P. Bush Recibe Prestigioso Premio de la Embajada

 El pasado 14 de marzo, el Embajador Martin J. Silverstein hizo entrega a George P. Bush del Premio 2003 “Ciudadano Diplomático Thomas Jefferson” de la Embajada en una ceremonia que tuvo lugar en el Colegio Uruguayo-Americano en Montevideo.

El Embajador Silverstein destacó la intensa agenda diplomática en Uruguay al hacerle entrega del premio “en reconocimiento por sus desinteresados esfuerzos y excelentes aptitudes diplomáticas al fortalecer y solidificar las relaciones bilaterales entre Uruguay y los Estados Unidos de América.".   

Antes de la ceremonia, el Sr. Bush se dirigió a estudiantes de secundaria y bachillerato, a docentes y a integrantes de la junta del Colegio reunidos en asamblea, en la que habló sobre su propia experiencia como estudiante universitario y estudiante de derecho y como profesor de liceo en un colegio de Miami, Florida.  

George P. Bush Receives Prestigious Embassy Award

Ambassador Martin J. Silverstein presented George P. Bush with the Embassy’s 2003 Thomas Jefferson Citizen Diplomat Award in a ceremony at the Uruguayan American School in Montevideo on March 14. Ambassador Silverstein highlighted Mr. Bush’s week of intensive public diplomacy in Uruguay as he presented the award "in recognition of [his] selfless efforts and keen diplomatic skills in strengthening and solidifying bilateral relations between Uruguay and the United States of America."   

Before the ceremony, Mr. Bush addressed middle and secondary school students, teachers and school board members in an assembly, speaking to them about his own experiences as a college and law school student, and as a high school teacher in an inner city school in Miami, Florida.
